Hooraaay the Gemini’s…

Well, hooray to a pretty good dinner and getting a glimpse of that icon of Canadian home reno - Mike Holmes (pictured here).

Atomic Betty was nominated for a Gemini again this year. Unfortunately we didn’t bring home the brass. Of course that doesn’t diminish our pride and sheer happiness that Betty is holding her own amongst Canada’s best-animated programs. Eventually it will happen. Fingers crossed.

Atomic’s other full time gig Captain Flamingo was also nominated for best music, but alas we didn’t strike tin there either. Am I sensing a pattern? Your guess is as good as mine but now that we’ve seen the bright lights and smelled the air in Toronto we’re going to do our level best to get back there next October. Promise.

Captain Flamingo flies into Season 2 and 3:

Yep, you read it right turd ball. Milo Powell and gang take to the streets of Halverson and area for another 26eps starting right about now.

Flamingo has been handing folks their asses for a whole season and the insanity will continue on into 2007 thanks to viewers like you. Atomic and partners have done a bang-up job and look forward to continuing the domination of the 6-8 demo.

Atomic ramps up on Season 3 of Atomic Betty:

Oh to the good graces of the gods of television (and a few happy broadcasters) our little “big” girl gets another kick at the can. As of early October we’ve started drawing (and writing) on season 3 of Atomic Betty. We’re pulling out all the stops this go-round with an all-digital pipeline right from the initial ideas (computer generated) through design, board and animation. We’re also planning to start delivering on true digital tape instead of the old “terrycloth” variety. We’re planning a bit of a switch up in season 3 with some slippery plot twists, key players changing teams and even a talking badger named Vager.

Atomic Wants You! No, not you. You.

Ever wanted to work at Atomic? You Canadian? Know how to pour coffee? If two of the three answers are yes (and you’re a Canadian) send us your resume. Atomic is ramping up on Season 3 of Atomic Betty. That means we’ll need to board, design, color, build, layout and animate 52 kick ass episodes of the number 1 show on Sundays at 9am. Want to see your name scream across the screen in tiny little illegible letters? Love your job so much you’ll do it twice? Hate holidays? Love pesos? Three words.. An-i-mation.

Atomic is on the lookout for a crew of dedicated artists to work on Betty. We’ll pay you and your name will show up in 125 different countries. Doesn’t get better than that!
Check our web site for details.

Sorry, one more…

I couldn’t resist. The medium shots here at Atomic were in LA recently to meet with the fine folks at Klasky Csupo. Rob (on right) and Trevor (pictured left) were meeting with the gang at Klasky to get the low down on some of the shorts we’re currently wrapping for them.

Our top Director Dave “hammer toe” Woodgate had this to say: I grew up watching Klasky shows so it was a great honor to make my magic for them”. Thanks klasky! Thanks Dave and crew on a great job as usual.

Movin’ On Up….

New this season to Atomic Betty is Jennifer (pictured left) joining Betty vet Chelsea (on right). Jennifer joins the crack production crew and will help keep the fine mation moving through the mighty machine that is Atomic. Prior to joining the production crew Jennifer worked with the big shots on the 6th floor: Rob, Mauro and Trevor. Welcome to Betty!
